What Does Your "Stuff" Say About You?

And not only is it saying something about you, but it is helping you to create your future. Try this. Forget how your life is now and who you are now. Think about how you want your life to be, and the person that you want to be. Think about it in enough detail so that you can get a picture in your mind of you in that life. Then start looking at your "stuff". Does it fit into the picture? If you were that person would you have this "stuff"? The idea is to keep things that fit into your future picture, and eliminate things that don't. This way your environment will be helping you to be that person that you want to be and have that life that you want to have, instead of holding you back in the past. Do You Love It?

Your personal spaces can be created to uplift and balance you! Look at the things you own, and ask yourself if you love them, associate them with positive memories, people and experiences. If you do, then keep them. If you don't then don't keep them. I know that you may not be able to remove every item that doesn't have positive associations right away, but plan to do so when you can. And for now make sure that you have at least one item in each room that you do love. As you work through this process your environment will become more and more uplifting, shifting the balance from being something that burdens you to something that enhances your life!

The Front Door

Your front door is the key to attracting new business and personal opportunites. When you look at the front of the building your eye should go to the front door first. Make a bold statement. Paint it a bright contrasting color, or hang something bright and eye-catching on or near it. Then make sure there is nothing blocking the door on the inside or the outside, even if this is not the door you use the most. Watch out for things like overgrown bushes, planters that crowd the entrance way, clutter, outerwear, shoes and boots, doors that stick or won't open, rugs that keep the door from opening easily, and things stored behind the door. And last, open the door every day! Find a reason (newspaper, mail, cat, dog, or no reason at all) to open that door and let the energy and opportunities flow in!
